Mary Lagat - Field Coordinator

Mary is a well-seasoned peace activist and a trauma healing expert that has garnered loads of experience in conflict resolution and transformation. She has done a lot of successful peace work and dispute/conflict resolution in West Pokot, Mt. Elgon, Turkana and East Baringo. Some of her most notable works and contributions include the integration of 10 of Sabaot Land Defence Force’s (SLDF) former militants back to Mt. Elgon community, resolution of 2 major cross-border conflicts in the western region of Kenya (The Pokot vs Karamojongs & The Pokot vs Turkanas), and the resolution of the Kalenjin-Kikuyu tribal conflict in Burnt Forest following the 2007-2008 post-election violence.

Mary is a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with a keen desire to for learning new approaches and skills. She also has passionate interest in girl-child empowerment and mentorship.
